Hi, I’m Steve.

After an unremarkable music career, I discovered a passion for helping others. For several years I worked in mental health treatment centers while pursuing a degree in Psychology, with an emphasis on Cognitive Neuroscience. Eventually, I discovered Human Factors and User Experience Research. I found that I could make people’s lives better by advocating for them with well-crafted research.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Human Factors and Cognitive Psychology program at the University of Central Florida. I have two main lines of academic research. The first looks at how we use spatial and functional relationships between objects to visually search our environment. The second examines the use of objective and passively collected behavioral data (eye and mouse movements) for usability benchmarking.

When I am not working, you can usually find me at home with my wife and two daughters. I am an audiobook junkie and obsessive guitar player.

I would love to connect to discuss how I can turn data into insights that make your users safe and happy.
